As a culture, we often refuse to grant the title of “art project” to things that fall outside the realms of acrylic on canvas, a studio-recorded album, or an expertly crafted sculpture. In restricting what can qualify as art we limit our potential and muddy our thinking.

A well-balanced meal served to your spouse can be an art project. A scribbled illustration given to a co-worker can be an art project. An experimental business model can be an art project. A first attempt at a handmade journal can be an art project.

Art projects are things we do because we believe in what is getting made. Art projects are things we create because we enjoy the process. Art projects can be anything if we allow them to.
